Excersus XXVI: Bringing an Immortal to a Knife Fight
Snakes and other generally serpentish creatures aren't unilaterally bad in Hindu mythology, and sometimes they pull off some quite heroic things. I can't think of a good snake in Christian mythology, and as I've said before most animals come off the worse for their contact with Jehovah and his minions. I am nowhere near well-versed enough in Hindu mythology to say with authority that there does not exist an animal who is always up to no good. It strikes me as against the spirit of the religion, and I haven't seen it yet, but it might exist - if you have an example, drop by The Vocate's facebook page and post it!
