A Note from Count Dolby von Luckner Concerning Himself
As this is a comic touching on religion and mythology, I thought it would be best to be entirely up front with my own authorial prejudices and perspective. I am an atheist, but I find intense human beauty in the mythologies of the world, particularly those stemming from local, polytheistic beliefs. Just as part of my motivation for starting Frederick the Great was to tell stories about historical figures who have grown so dim over time that they are in danger of passing from collective memory altogether, with The Vocate my aim is to share those corners of mythology, and the languages they come from, as best I can.
Count Dolby von Luckner is the co-author of the webcomic Frederick the Great: A Most Lamentable Comedy Breaching Space and Time, the co-editor of the online literary journal Rivets, and by way of Tell Your Family About It work is a high school math and science teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area. He loves receiving and writing epistles, so by all means drop him a note at TheCount@ftg-comic.com!
